Rejection, betrayal, and shame brings the feeling of unwantedness, which affects all relationships.

God loves us with an everlasting love.

“Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son who was a cripple in his feet. He was five years old when the news came out of Jezreel (of the death) of Saul and Jonathan; and the boy's nurse took him up and fled; and in her haste, he fell and became lame. His name is Mephibosheth.”

2 SAMUEL 4:4 (Amplified Bible)

Spiritual consciousness. Mephibosheth means a shameful thing. This boy was not born lame. The lameness was as a result of being dropped and the fall broke his legs. Similarly, there are people who were not born with certain physical, spiritual, or emotional deformities. The state of one's heart is manifested in the face; you can't hide it. (Proverbs 18:14) As this boy was dropped, you might have been dropped, i.e., rejected, betrayed, or humiliated by your parents, spouse, a close friend, or fiancée. You may have lost someone you loved suddenly, a well paying job, or a business which collapsed. You may have suffered rape or you were molested. This left you wounded in your spirit. Your parents might have called you names which killed your spirit. Now you are in a state where you refuse to love others, you refuse to love yourself, and refuse to give love to others.

This is dangerous; it affects your spirit, soul, and body. This may have you feeling lonely, miserable, self-pitying, depressed, desperate, and perhaps hopeless. I have good news for you. There is a remedy, Isaiah 53:3. Jesus, the suffering Messiah was despised, rejected, and forsaken by men; a man of sorrows and pains, acquainted with grief and sickness.

Accept your situation now and know that Jesus forgives all sins. Decide now to get rid of whatever rejection has done or brought into your life e.g., hatred, rebellion, resentment, or bitterness. Understand and accept that God has accepted you. He loves you. Begin accepting yourself. When men drop you, God is there to pick you up from your deep sense of unworthiness, anxiety, fears, depression, and despair. Men’s introduction suffers human reduction, but God's introduction will not suffer human reduction. God says, “I love you with an everlasting love.”

When your world is falling apart, build your foundation on Christ.

“And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;”

ISAIAH 11:2 (KJV)

E

recting the building of life -2. For any building to be guaranteed, it requires a suitable position and location. There are processes in erecting a building:

1. The step of foundation: Everything about the Kingdom is centered on the foundation. God is a God of foundations. God can never be the Omega, if He was not the Alpha. The foundation of our today is dependent upon our yesterday. If you cannot build a foundation, you will never erect any building. The foundation in every building envelops its purpose. Everything in life is a about purpose; everything is working towards its purpose. Miracles cannot give you purpose. It is purpose that brings the miracle.

2. Every foundation carried two major pillars:

a)       The Pillar of Assignment— “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8) Jesus could not come until there was a purpose. Tell your neighbor that you are here because of an assignment. Jesus will NOT do what you CAN do. He will only DO what you CANNOT do. No matter how close the relationship Jesus had with Lazarus, he (Lazarus) could not roll away the stone. Until the stone was rolled away, there was no resurrection (John 11).

b)       The Pillar of Potential— (Isaiah 11:1-5) In order for you to maintain your location and position, you must build up your capacity. Increase in knowledge and wisdom. For wisdom is the principal thing.

If you were preparing a dough and left out the flour, what you have is a mess. Therefore, in anything that you do, obtain wisdom and wisdom comes from nowhere, but God. I pray that as you are part of the eBlessings network, understand your assignment, work towards it and build your capacity. May God bless you as you build the foundation of life.

Give an account of your life; right here and right now.

“Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and forth generation of them that hate me, and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.”

DEUTERONOMY 5:9 (KJV)

G

enerational curses: the parent not being there—in this case, the father is not there. That in and of itself is not the curse, it is only the product of the curse. Or I should say it is not the only curse by which a family may be cursed, due to the absence of the father, the mother, or the grandparents. If a loved one has gone on to be with the LORD, they are with us in Spirit. When alive and not with us, they are not with us in Spirit unless they are involved in the day to day life of the broken, dysfunctional family.

Remove bitterness and resentment. Pouring love, pouring on God’s Love will break any curse. The issue is getting past our bitterness, reaching towards the forgiveness of others, seeking understanding of past events, listening with compassion, and moving on past the negative places where you may find yourself and your family—move to and in a positive mental attitude. Move in a positive spirit, move in an attribute of God or His Son Jesus. Live in the Character of God. When in hell keep moving or you will stay in hell longer than you would like. So if you have bitterness, that bitterness will and can penetrate different aspects of your life, the lives of your children, and the lives of the grandparents. “And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.” Job21:25 (KJV) Don’t let this be you.

See the relationship as it is. There are curses within curses. When in a relationship which is poor, bad for the children, and bad for you, you will not leave the relationship because you do not want to abandon the person in the relationship, even when you are not married to them. You may feel like the person has stuck with you during your bad times, so you must stick with them, even if the relationship has not really gone through anything. The curse is in effect so seeing and hearing things as they are is often difficult. The curse allows you to look past evil actions, attitudes, behavior patterns, and ultimately allow you to stay in a poor or detrimental relationship. See past the curse, see through the curse. Allow the wisdom of love to show you God’s Way in the midst of your trouble. Nothing is too big for God.

Mortals are without love; Only those who believe in God can love.

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
MATTHEW 5:44
(KJV)

Somebody may ask, “Why do you say I have no love?” I love my parents, I love my wife and children. I love my friends. Actually, that is not true love. True love is not from the flesh. It is only from the spirit. I have seen many persons stealing, cheating, or killing others for their family interests. I have seen many nations invading the powerless in the cloak of national interests. They also claimed to love their fellows.

Mortals’ love is selfish. It is not true love. True love means sacrifice. God loved us so, that He sacrificed His own Son - Jesus Christ. God is good to all. He never looks after somebody by oppressing another. Mortals are all selfish. Their eyes are always upon the flesh, the power, or the wealth. Only those who belong to the Holy Spirit could love all people because love is from God. Jesus once said that you must love each other. It means tolerance, sacrifice, and kindness.

Why can't you answer insult with insult? Why must you love your enemies and pray for them? Because we are all sinners and we have no authority to judge them. Can you say you are wholly good and they are wholly evil? We are blessed because we recognize Jesus Christ. If we follow Him, we will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Sinners are pitiful for they are still controlled by the devil. They are fettered and not free. When you pray for your enemies, you can feel peace and joy in your heart. When you don't forgive them, you feel upset. This is not the expectation of God.

Let the Holy Spirit lead us and keep us. Let us live in faith, love, and hope. My God, thank You giving us new life.

Salvation is the greatest gift one can receive from the Lord,

but it is more than just a gift, it is a responsibility.

Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.

PSALM 85:9 (KJV)

M

any of us take salvation for granted. Yes, it has been granted by God, but have You ever thought about the fact that salvation speaks of us being saved from something, not just saved? We have such a humanistic gospel today, because we look at things only from our side. We see only how it will benefit us; what it can do for us. We say: “We are saved! The Lord has granted us our salvation, our healing, our deliverance, and our prosperity! These are all our POSSESSIONS!” So, we name it, we claim it, we proclaim it, we declare it, we speak it forth, and we believe for it. OK, I completely and 100% agree with all this, and I do it myself, but I would like to draw your attention on our attitude in wanting all this. Because the line between true faith and demonic arrogance is so thin, that many don’t even notice it, neither can they at all define it.

We were sinners. That means we were sunk in the mud of this world and the demonic Babylonian system created by the devil. We were without hope, without love, without life, without future and therefore, we were desperate for someone to save us. The Lord came right then, pulled us out of this muddy swamp, as a person draws out a drowning man from the water. And so, we owe our lives, our plans and agendas, our families, our jobs, and our everything to the Lord. He has not saved us so we can lead a self-centered life of filling up all our cravings and desires, only because they are our God given rights and privileges. We are saved, so we can give our lives to the Lord. A proud man once said: “I accept Jesus as my Savior, Healer, Deliverer, and Provider, but not as my Lord!” See, the man wants God’s promises fulfilled in His life, but he doesn’t want the Lord’s Lordship and Ruler ship and Leading. Sorry, that’s not possible. The Lord is not mocked.

How would you like for you to give birth to a son or a daughter, and all their lives, for them to always want everything You have provided for them as their parent, yet, never asking You what actually are the desires of Your heart? I don’t believe there is a parent that would like that kind of a child. Yes, as parents, our responsibility is to take complete and absolute care of our children, and the Lord is doing that for us, being so faithful, even when we are not. Yet, what about our responsibility to establish and expand the name of our Father on this Earth? What about our following in the footsteps of our parents? What about continuing the family line, naturally and spiritually speaking? We are saved, so the Lord’s Glory can fill the Earth, but who will become a container and a carrier of that Glory? Who will go for the Lord? Whom shall the Lord send? If all of us see God’s salvation only as His part being fulfilled towards us, so Praise the Lord, who will fulfill their part towards the establishing of God’s dreams and heart desires in our Earth?

Words have the power to change your world and the world of others.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak,

they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

MATTHEW 12:36-37 (KJV)

W

ords Bless or curse. In our world, words have the power of a seed, multiple seeds. Words have the miracle power of seeds, the power to create from a shell, a vessel, from a place of rejection, loneliness, producing God’s Power from a cold, dark hole or position in life. Words rejuvenate and generate power like a seed in a hole. When we find ourselves in a hole, we must speak the words which will lift us and others up out of our circumstances. Rise up with your words! Words carry spirit on every breath.

Blasphemy: evil speaking, railing, impious (lacking in due respect) or profane speaking of God, or of sacred persons or things; words. Words can bless or curse. Evil spoken words, words of malice have the power to bring people down. It is extremely important to use positive words to build people up. See the positive in every situation so we can allow positive words to work through and in us. Be kind. “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)

For example, do not say a thing like this: “Take your stupid self into that damn kitchen and clean up those crappy dishes.” This example shows both placing a curse on a person and on a place (location). The person is now cursed with stupidity. You have planted a seed of stupidity which they will take with them. The kitchen is now damned until someone removes the curse on that room. The dishes will now be seen as not good enough, just like they view themselves. Not only the kitchen, but the house, the people in it, and eventually (prayerfully not) their world becomes crappy, not good enough. Negative statements said in jest or anger are powerful and have powerful negative effects. Positive statements spoken in love to help a person, place, or thing is God’s way of empowering us to live in our Divine Destiny.

Be mindful of every thought word, every spoken word, the words given to your mind, and words entering and leaving your heart. “Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from  you, with all malice:” Ephesians 4:31 (KJV)  Our words are kept in Heaven. “For our conversation is in heaven…” Philippians 3:20 (KJV)

Let God Show Himself Strong.

“For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth,

to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him…”

2 CHRONICLES 16:9 (KJV)

G

od is looking for a people who will allow Him to show Himself strong. He desires to do great and mighty things on behalf of His people, but many times He has not been given opportunity.  In our modern society, man has become more independent upon technology, scientific discoveries, politics, and economic systems than on the power of God to sustain him. But the truth is: GOD'S WAYS STILL WORKS.

What kind of a person is God looking for? A person “WHOSE HEART IS PERFECT TOWARDS HIM.” The word perfect is defined as pure, clean, upright, complete, and devoted. The Moffat translation of 2 Chronicles 16:9 reads, “For the eternal’s eyes dart here and there over the whole world, as He exerts His power on behalf of those who are devoted to Him.” Briefly, I would like to add my favorite sermon entitled “INTEGRITY.” What kind of a person is God looking for? A man or woman of integrity. The word integrity comes from the Latin word INTEGRITAS meaning; to be whole, sound, complete, or unmarred. A person of integrity is a person who lives one life. He/she is not divided or pretends to be what he is not. He/she is like an open book, he has nothing to hid.

Brethren, integrity is a way of life – a life that is committed to truthfulness. Integrity touches and affects all that one is and does. It is expressed in every role, relationship, or responsibility in which one is involved. It is one of the most important pillars of Christianity. Would you like for God to show Himself strong in your behalf? Then, confess these words loud and clear right now, God, search no more. Here am I, I want to be pure, clean, and upright in my heart. I want to be dedicated, consecrated, loyal, and faithful to your cause.

LORD I AM WILLING

You are dead to sin when you give your life to Jesus Christ.

“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

For he that is dead is freed from sin.”
ROMANS 6:6-7
(KJV)

Many a believer do not realize that their citizenship here on earth changed as soon as they gave their lives to Christ. According to the above scripture, to God you are a dead man to sin and the world controlled by satan. The link between you and the world of sin and the world of iniquities has been severed. “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:3

In the spiritual realm, and before the Throne of God, this is your state when you are born again. There is transition from the kingdom of sin to the Kingdom of Righteousness. Spiritual death has occurred and that is why the scripture says that he that is dead is freed from sin. Friend, you are dead to sin and your life is now hid with Christ in God.

When you were not born again, you were spiritually dead to the world of righteousness. But now, in Christ Jesus, you are also spiritually dead to the world of sins controlled by satan and his angels. Physically, you are still in the world, but spiritually you are dead to the world and the kingdom controlled by sin and the devil. “For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:53-55 Sin, sicknesses, diseases, demons, and the devil have no power over you again. Instead, you have power and authority over them. (Luke 10:19)

Friend, you are freed from sin and its woes. That is why you can say with Apostle Paul that you bear the marks of the Lord. Let nothing trouble you. Say it loud and clearly, “Sin has no power over my spirit, soul, or body.”

If there is love with us, there is forgiveness. Revenge is for God, not we humans.

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
MATTHEW 5:38-39 (KJV)

Children of God, the Words of God are like light we use in our daily activities. We are made from soil and our flesh will go back to soil and our spirits will go either to heaven or hell.

“Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.” Matthew 5:21-22

God is the root of our lives and we must obey and worship Him. Any problem we have with our brothers or sisters must be settled in God-like ways. Who are we to take revenge or destroy?

“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.” Matthew 5:23-24

We must have love enough to forgive. It is like God to forgive us and as we attempt to be like God through His Son Christ Jesus, we must learn to forgive one another and ourselves; God has. We must learn to love our enemies and forgive them for what they have done to us and our families.

“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.” Romans 12:17  We must develop a disposition for forgiving and being merciful.  Let’s not play God in seeking revenge for the evil which has been done to us. Forgive and let’s make a place for God to show us the action to take that is most like Him.

Involve God in any and all of your plans. Let your plan be His Plan.

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;”

PSALM 1:1 (NKJ)

F

rom whom do you seek counsel? When you have a big decision to make, who do you consult? When you feel that you must have a change of direction, where do you go for information? When you can’t take your position anymore, things are just too much, too big, and overwhelming, where do you turn? What does the Bible say about asking advice: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverb 3:6 (NKJ)

In the book “Growing Our Spirit Soul,” I discuss hearing from self, satan (evil), or from the Family of God. Your counseling will come from one of these three sources. “Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: ‘Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge? Now prepare yourself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer Me.’” Job 38:1-3 (NKJ) Has what you are planning been given to you from God? From self? From the evil ones? Is what you are desiring to do something you have wanted to do most of your life? Is it something which pleases God? Does it please you? Does it please the forces of evil? What is the motivation? Who is creating or causing the motivation? To where can you see this motivation moving you? To whom or to what are you listening to, are you being motivated by, or is directing your path? Is your path rough or smooth? Are you being motivated by God? By the influence of man? By self?

It is difficult for someone who has not made a million dollars to show and tell you how to make your first million. It is not a good idea to listen to a convicted felon who has a history of going to jail. It is poor judgment to seek proper advice from a person who has a poor or none existent relationship with God. It is poor planning to listen to people who have “stuff,” materialistic gain, in an attempt to learn how to be pious, giving, or compassionate.

Acknowledge God in all thy ways. Bring everything to Christ Jesus, because He can make it right and show you the way—the right way.  “I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; my heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the LORD always before me; because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” Psalms 16:7-8 (NKJ)

Start today—walking, talking, and living in your calling.

“Once again Jesus went out beside the lake. A large crowd came to him, and he began to teach them.

As he walked along, he saw Levi son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s booth.

Follow me,’ Jesus told him, and Levi got up and followed him.”

MARK 2:13-14 (NIV)

C

alled to be God’s people - 1. God places various “calls” to numerous people. God recognizes our differences, and His divine appointments are based upon His call to each individual. God made many “calls” on people. The first call is the call of Levi (Matthew) to follow him. Matthew was a tax collector; a profession that the Pharisees considered sinful.

Matthew followed Jesus immediately and invited his friends to dine with Jesus. “While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and ‘sinners’ were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the ‘sinners’ and tax collectors, they asked his disciples, ‘Why does he eat with tax collectors and ‘sinners’?’” MARK 2:15-16 (NIV) This shocked the Pharisees, who could hardly believe that Jesus would eat with these "sinners." “On hearing this, Jesus said to them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.’” MARK 2:15-17 (NIV)  Jesus said that He came to call those who recognized their own sinfulness.

In Mark 3:13-19; Jesus called the twelve disciples to follow him. Then He sent them out two by two. The disciples were commissioned to have power over evil spirits. They were to take nothing for their journey except staffs – no  money and no extra clothing. They were dependent upon the hospitality of the people to whom they were sent. You see in this passage we learn that when God calls you He does not give you money or clothes. He also commissioned you to do wonders. Did He give you money when He called you? When He called me in exile, He did not give me a cent. My sister that was helping me cut communication off from me. But I was able to talk to an organization to provide scholarship for the kids God had given me. When I returned to Liberia I came without anything, but He, God, has been there for us. And He will always be there for you as He has been there for us.

Affect the life of another in an impossibly positive way.

And as ye go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

MATTHEW 10:7-8 (KJV)

C

alled to be God’s people - 2.  We learn about the call of Abraham to follow God to a new land. So Abraham left all that was familiar and comfortable; His family, his country, His culture, and His home. God promised to make Abraham into great nation, to make His name great, to bless him, to bless those who blessed him, to curse those who cursed him, and to bless all the people of the earth through him. (Genesis 12:1-3)

When God called you and you are faithful to Him, He will guide you, protect you, and bless you. These scriptures tell us about others that were called. King David: a call to lead faithfully, (1 Samuel 16:1-4, 6-13). “Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward…” 1 Samuel 16:13 (KJV) Simeon and Anna: a call to hope, (Luke 2:22-38). Joseph: a call to respond, (Matthew 1:17-25)“Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.” Matthew 1:19-20 (KJV) When a miracle is placed in your life, work your miracle with your calling. Work your hope for a miracle with your calling, with your talent.

May God bless you and may this devotional strengthen you to be faithful to your call to affect the lives of others in impossibly, positive ways.

God will break us to renew us, reshape us, and refuel us with His Love.

“and say to them, ‘Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Even so I will break this people and this city, as one breaks a potter’s vessel, which cannot be made whole again;…”

JEREMIAH 19:11 (NKJ)

V

essels - 4.   He shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the potter’s vessels shall be broken to pieces—”  Revelation 2:27 (NKJ)  God  allowed Christ Jesus to experience the Crucifixion, allowed Christ to experience the human existence, and allowed our Lord and Savior to suffer our sin experience by going to  the Cross. If God allowed Christ to experience this level of suffering, and we, disciples of Christ, do we not expect to have a cross experience? Or multiple cross experiences as we learn and desire to grow spiritually?

As maturing Christians, we must understand that God breaks us to make us. He breaks us to make us who He wants us to be. He breaks the vessel to make new… to repair… to make better… to reshape us into the people who we truly are. “And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter’s vessel, which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments a shard to take fire from the hearth, or take water from the cistern.” Isaiah 30:14 (NKJ)  When God breaks us, we will be broken into so miniscule pieces that fire from the hearth (of life), nor the water from the spring (of life) will be able to see any impurity left in us for there is none. Jesus Christ bears that part of us. “Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.” Proverb 25:4 (KJV)

God broke Jesus into pieces. You know God is going to break us into pieces. “But now , O LORD, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand. Do not be furious, O LORD, nor remember iniquity forever; indeed, please look—we all are Your people!” Isaiah 64:8-9 (NKJ)

“And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying: ‘O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?’ says the LORD. ‘Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!’” Jeremiah 18:4-6 (NKJ)  Be the new vessel the LORD has allowed you to become.

A Widow’s Offering? Yes, Generous Giving.

“For they all gave out of their abundance—their surplus—but she has contributed

out of her lack and her want, putting in all that she had on which to live.”
LUKE 21:4
(Amplified)

The one that gives a little offering was the cleverest one. This was the idea held by baby believers of Christ in the village where I was born and brought up. People were used to little. When organizations asked for financial support for ministry, I never observed anyone giving generously but out of fear and compulsion. In the village now I see surprisingly that God has raised up about 140+ ministers out of 200 families.

Now things are changed. The idea of little giving has been converted into generous giving. The church itself is supporting many ministers. I’m so much blessed to be the only missionary from the village called Ashrayagada (the refuge tower). When occasionally I visit my home village, I receive a warm welcome when I enter the village. I love to spend time with the peculiar personalities and they respond frankly when I reason with them. “What if you give more to God for ministry?” Very often they reply to me saying, “How can we generously and abundantly give when we are not prosperous?” And this is the same question asked by Christians.

Friends, I just want to encourage us. God regards highly and values what we give. God never worries about the size or shape of giving. In fact, to give, someone need not to be prosperous but generous. So, someone need not to be prosperous to be generous. If someone has the spirit of generosity, a poor person can give like a prince. Many would like to give plenty when they become prosperous.

Friends, if we cannot learn to be generous in little, how can we give when living in plenty? Friends, God teaches us generosity, especially when we live in little. Jesus once declared to a congregation saying the widow gave more than all others. Jesus counts the heart of hearts’ generosity. Understand the poor widow in Luke 21:1-4. After all, she put in 2 pennies only. Blessed be the church of Macedonia, for its generosity. Though they have been going through much trouble and hard times, their joy and deep poverty have overflowed in rich generosity. For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford but also more. And they did it of their own free will. (2 Corinthians 8:2-3) We too can give like Macedonia church. Can we exercise our own free will to be generous in our little? God bless us to say, “Yes!” Amen.

Yes, the Lord loves to answer our prayers, but which ones?

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. JAMES 4:1-3 (KJV)

And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come… Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” REVELATION 22:17, 20 (KJV)

A

ll of us pray millions of prayers to the Lord. Some get answered, others don’t. For the ones that don’t, we have formed so many explanations as to why they didn’t get answered. Some blame God, some themselves, some the circumstances, and some who knows what else. There’s no end to all the philosophical and theological attempts to explain why some times prayer does not get answered. I will not join in giving you one more reason for that.

Instead, I want to give you a prayer that will surely get answered. It is very simple. Here it is: “Lord, please come!” You will say: “Is that is?” Yes, it is. If He comes, He will bring His purposes for your life, family, and ministry. If He comes, He will come with His Power and Glory! If He comes, He will come with His fire. If He comes, He will come with His salvation, healing, deliverance, prosperity, protection, wholeness, and total victory.

When will we start being hungry for Him? Even if the Lord answers all our prayers, if they are selfish and centered only around us and our well being, it would only bring about our destruction. If we want Him and be hungry for His purposes and agendas, then all our prayers will be with the right motive and in the right direction. Let us join the Spirit and the bride in saying: “Come, Lord!”

Realize the benefits of the good life with Christ,

your Faith in Him must rest entirely on the Word of God.

“For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the Law of the LORD,

and to do it, and to teach statutes and ordinances in Israel.”

EZRA 7:10 (NKJ)

S

tandards of the Good Life. TO REALIZE THE BENEFITS of the good life with Christ, our Faith in Him must rest entirely on the Word of God. That is why you will want to read the Bible daily and let it be the standard for your life. Job says in Job 23:12, “...I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.”

The Bible contains the mind of God, the state of man, the way of salvation, the doom of sinners, and the happiness of believers. Its doctrine is holy. Its precepts are binding. Its histories are true and its decisions are immutable. Read it to be wise. “How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103 (KJV). Believe it to be safe and practice it to be holy. The Bible contains light to direct you, food to support you, and comfort to cheer you. “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart; for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16 (KJV).

“Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it: for the time is near.” Revelation 1:3 (NKJ). You may think that you cannot understand the Bible, but Jesus said: “…I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent have revealed to babes. Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight." Mathew 11:25–26 (NKJ). God is the author, so He needs no assistance. He is the Master communicator. He has said what He means. Accept it. People who say the Bible is difficult to understand usually do not want to believe what He says.

In life, it is important to do the God thing, not the emotional thing

and not always what seems to be the most reasonable thing at the time.

Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you?

I, the LORD, have spoken, and will do it.

EZEKIEL 22:14 (NKJ)

W

alk-away spirit - 1. Today we live in a world where everyone wants everything now. No one wants to wait to receive anything. We want a girlfriend now. We want – a  husband now – children now – a good job now. We want to win the lottery now. We want everything now, right NOW. We must be here now. We want to be in tomorrow, to live in tomorrow, to dream about tomorrow, which places us in tomorrow and not in today. We want to get the big house, our favorite car, and great job. Getting that college degree is our way to meet our goal. But what happens on the way to those goals, our focus changes from why we have those goals in the first place—family—to whatever it takes to make those goals come true—sacrifice. To whom or to what are you sacrificing your life, your family, or your relationship with God? Sometimes we miss the true reason for our motivation towards achievement. Our motivation should be to know God better. You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might.” Deuteronomy 6:5 (NKJ)

Why is it important to be here now? So we do not develop a “walk-away” spirit. When we look at a pot of gold, we often forget about the diamond in our hands. When we do not see the diamond in our hands and look to the “golden” opportunities for our future, we tend to develop impatience with where we are, anxiety concerning who we are, and become less tolerant of people who can’t or won’t give “it” to us now. When the “walk-away” spirit is gone, what happens is we look around and say, “I don’t believe I walked away from my blessing. It was standing right in front of me and I didn’t see it.”

Let your conduct be without covetousness, and be content with such things as you have.” Hebrews 13:5a (NKJ) Sometimes we think about the things we want so much that we lose track of what is truly important. Sometimes we get so involved in church, work, or making sure our children or family is happy, we lose ourselves in our children, family, work, church, or someone else’s ambitions. If we are going to lose ourselves in anyone, let it be Jesus. If we are to lose our focus on something, let it be lost on the LORD. Let us not get or be so busy that we stop living today. Live in today; live in this moment. God made this very moment especially for you and I. This day—there will not be another like it.

Character is the salt of life. Increase your salt.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV)

T

he importance of character. There is nowhere in this world where anyone will prepare a sauce without a salt. Salt is a significant substance in any sauce. There is no way you can become the man that you were created to be without a character. Character is disciplining oneself. It is not just telling, but practicing what you preach.

There is nowhere in life that accountability is not needful. In this generation, God is looking for men and women, boys and girls that He can trust. Men are also looking for men and women they can trust. It takes the proof of character to bring about trust. Nowhere in this world will people follow someone who they do not trust. If we are telling the world to believe the Gospel, it is obvious and certain that we in our power should believe the Gospel. If the Gospel is not affecting the lives of the people, it is not because, it lacks power, but there is a lack of practice of the Gospel.

It is not charisma that makes you a great man, but character. From Africa to Asia, from Europe to America, the world has been crying for people of character. We are now living in a world where parents do not spend time developing the character their children. They would rather spend their time and money in night clubs, coming home drunk, abusing their children sexually and verbally. The world is indeed crying for people of character.

Where are the men of character? Joseph was a man who could be trusted and because of his character, he became a nation transformer. Can we find some Josephs in our time, today, who can stand and say above all else, I trust God? (Genesis 41:38)  I pray that God will train your spirit to have a character that will serve your generation. May God bless you as you come to understand the importance of character.

Look at the world, it shows us our progress as Christian stewards.

“This is the day which the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”

PSALM 118:24 (NKJ)

W

alk-away spirit - 2.  This is another day the LORD has made for us, let us rejoice and be glad in it. It is tough to feel joy when all you feel is sadness or some other negative emotion. But we have to “count it all joy.” Whatever is happening in our lives, we must count it all joy. This does not mean stand there and take someone else’s foolishness. It means we must ask ourselves a question: What would Jesus Christ do in this situation?

It is not wise or in the character of God to ignore the principles, statues, commandments, and general wisdom outlined in the Bible when making a decision. This is true not only of the large life challenges, but the small, miniscule circumstances which the Lord desires for us to include Him in.

When we see what others have, we tend to want to be where they are, go to where they have been, be like them, or do what they have done to get what they have or what they had. Would Jesus do this? Consider what people have endured to get what they have. It doesn’t come easy. And if it does, it will be gone just as quickly. When life becomes unbearable and miserable, with no direction or end in sight, do we walk away? Would Jesus walk away from pain and despair, His life challenge? Thank God He didn’t.

Did your situation happen because God is planning something bigger and better for you? Or did this happen because of poor decisions? We could just up and walk away, but this same situation if not handled properly in God’s eyes is destined to return to us for us to repeat it until we get it right. This is a part of our spiritual growth; whether Christian, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist, as human beings, we are involved in our physical, mental, psychological, and supernatural development.

Now, I have made up in my mind to leave the church I am attending. I am leaving my job. I am leaving my family. No one understands me. No one loves me like I want or need to be loved. I have determined that I am going to do what it takes to make the big bucks, to have the best things like Solomon, to steal what I want, to kill whoever gets in my way, or have what I want. This is where your mind made up like this will lead you. You may not pull the trigger, but someone will be pulling the trigger for you, on your behalf. We have to make up in our minds to do the JESUS thing…that is to tough it out, endure and apply the Bible and what Jesus said and says to our situations. We must apply JESUS so we can control not only ourselves, but our world.

alking by Faith.  When Mega Fest (a Christian family event) came to Atlanta, Georgia, three years ago it was a great move of God for my ministry. It was the best of times. The $1,500 fee allowed a poor man to launch out into the deep. But this year, when I arrived this is what happened. God blessed me with an unexpected move of faithfulness.

When I contacted Mega Fest, the price had changed to $2,500. To a baby ministry which is walking by faith, for I am just a man delivered fro crack cocaine with a message of music, word, and song for the world. So naturally, I drove from Florida to Atlanta on blind faith to register to see if God would make a move on my behalf. When I arrived at the registration desk, the lady said, “That’s right, the price is $2,500.” I said, “Oh Lord, is there anyway you can put me somewhere in the back?” “Nope,” she said, “the price is $2,500.”  “Hold up a minute,” I said as I walked away. I looked up at the ceiling of the Georgia Dome and asked, “Lord, what are you gonna do? And He said, "The question is what are you gonna do?”  I said, “I don’t know.” He said, “You know. Follow your Spirit.”  Then I walked back up to the woman, looked her in the eye and said something that I didn’t want to say in the flesh. “I guess I will have to pass it up this time. $2,500 is too much for a man of faith like me.”

So as I drove away with my head down, feeling a little gloomy. I pulled over to a building to see an old friend. The old friend had moved on and hadn’t worked there anymore and had been gone for seven years. As I returned to my car, there was a security guard sitting in the shade of the summer. And he asked, “Are you from Florida?”  “Yes,” I replied. “What part?” he asked. “Jacksonville,” I said. “I got family down there,” he said, “what are you doing up here?” “Well I was gonna be a part of the Mega Fest, but it just doesn’t seem like it is gonna work out this time.” He said, “Well you know there are a lot of events going on in Atlanta this week. You know they got the Black Arts Festival at Greenbriar Mall.” I said, “Okay.”

As I sat in the car the Spirit spoke to me and said, “You don’t have anything to do. You might as well drive out there.” When I arrived there in the parking lot, three women walked up to me who knew me from Jacksonville, Florida that said, “That is that man who sings those great songs and has that awesome testimony.” They wanted four CDs which I had in my trunk. God blessed me immediately upon my arrival. Inside the mall, three people waved the $1,000 booth fee and God blessed me in two days for making the right choice. I said, “Thank you Lord.” He said, “No problem, you passed the test.” “Test?” I questioned. “Yes, you had your eyes on me and not the “”Big” money. I needed to know where your heart was. You let Me know when you walked away from the Mega Fest that your heart was on your ministry and not the money.” Will you make the right decision? Will you make a decision to live and walk by faith? Needless to say, I was blessed for two days with no fees involved. And then I knew: We must walk by faith and not by sight.

Check out the music by Brother Jay that Mega Fest missed.

Accepting people as they are, helps them accept Christ in you.

“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;

the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”

ISAIAH 53:5 (KJV)

S

erenity Prayer. The Serenity Prayer by Reinhold Niebuhr goes like this: “God grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference…” Now that is the short version. Here is the rest of it: “…living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your Will so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen.”

I took issue with the part which stated, “…taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it…”  The first thing I thought was: Jesus did not accept the world like it is, or the world like it was when He was here in the flesh. He came to bring change; He was and is change.  As I reflected on this, I realized that the Lord has compassion on all. He accepts people for who they are. Jesus accepts us as we are, where we are, and for whom we are. (This doesn’t mean staying in a place of disobedience or outside of God’s Will is okay.) Now Jesus is not going to accept evil behavior, thoughts, and deeds, but He will accept the person. With Jesus’ help the person can work with Him to put things back in their proper perspective.

The next reflection is that Jesus positions Himself to be available to the people; all the people of all the nations. Not only did Jesus go to where the people were, the people went to where Jesus was. People with good thoughts and behavior, as well as people with evil thoughts and demons or evil inside. They all came to Him. They were drawn to Him like a fresh drink of water in the middle of the desert.

We will often not accept this person or that person for whatever reason or because of some action, word, or deed which they committed intentionally or unintentionally. We have to look past the person, who is a creation of God, and see the evil which besets them. We have to deal with the evil first, then the person. Like Jesus, we must accept people as they are, in their struggle in an effort to help them out of their dilemmas. Acceptance brings change. I accept you as Jesus accepts me. Accept me as Jesus accepts you.

It’s good to just believe in Jesus, but there’s more to that than what we usually think.

“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.”

EXODUS 20:4-6 (KJV)

M

any nominal Christians say: “Just believe in Jesus. That’s all there is to it.” That is enough for them. Yet, that strips us of any responsibility. We may be all we want to be and just believe in Jesus, and then all would be ok! That’s the thinking of some. Not so!

The Lord is a Person! He is not an idol. He is not a thing. He is not an icon we place in front of us and kneel down and bow down to it in prayer and worship, saying: We believe in this stuff.” Jesus is not a Stuff. He is not a religious system, a structure, a doctrine, a dogma, a creed, or any such thing. He is alive! He has an opinion in all matters of our life and existence. He is our maker, our creator. He holds our life in His hands and He has a purpose for our life.

Many people “believe” in God just because they want to have some good feeling on the inside that they are acting good, moral, and religious. That’s not a godly thing. That’s a deception. The Lord is not a religious exercise. He is a Person. And more – He is the Ruler of Heaven and Earth, the Lord of your life, and mine, the Master of all living, as well as the owner of the whole Universe. Now that’s what you call a real estate owner! There’s nowhere you can go to hide from His Presence! Another cultural religion or belief in a foreign tribe, tongue, or nation does not disqualify Him as the Lord of all. Even if You go to Mars and the “green guys” have another system of beliefs there, He is still God of all. Let’s not box the Lord in our limited understanding. Let’s give Him the glory due to His name and let’s arrange our life accordingly.

We have a responsibility to correct that which is wrong.

“When with rebukes You correct man for iniquity,

you make his beauty melt away like a moth; surely every man is vapor.”

PSALM 39:11 (NKJ)

L

et it go. When we hear these three words we generally think of letting go of a relationship, letting go of bitterness, jealousy, envy, or some other negative emotion or feeling relating to a person, event, or time in our lives. This devotional is about not letting it go. What I am talking about?

When a person is saying something that is incorrect, harmful, destructive, or just generally wrong, do not let it go—correct them. If a situation is happening which you know is clearly wrong, do not let it go—correct it. Now, I am not saying it is always prudent, or wise to speak up when the situation is happening; use discernment. But there are normally avenues to travel which will lead us to take appropriate action when the time is right; follow the Spirit.

It is time for us to stop letting things go and start doing something about those dirty, nasty things which often come into our lives to steal our joy or the joy of others. Speak up. Stand up. Rise up. An attribute of God is a Spirit of Correction. It is time for us to utilize that characteristic of the LORD. “Understand, you senseless among the people; and you fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see? He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct…” Psalms 94:8-10 (NKJ)

It is time for you and I, they and them, the people of the world to stand up, speak up, and rise up for what is right in the eyes of the LORD; not what is right in the eyes of the president, the prime minister, or the lord marshall. The Bible is very explicit concerning what is right and what is wrong? If you question, if it is right or wrong, ask Christ Jesus, consult your spiritual leader, and allow the Holy Spirit to show you a course of action in your dilemma, someone else’s dilemma, or concerning the challenge which is yours or which is someone else’s.

Look at the world today. Look at your world today. Is there something in it which requires correcting? Do you want to correct it or are you going to wait on the Lord to correct it? You know the Lord has this “big” way of doing things. Let us be the eyes, ears, and hands of the Lord and be responsible. The Lord has placed you in your present situation for a time such as this. Make the Lord happy by moving on His behalf.

The Lord is faithful even when we are not. He will surely keep His promises.

Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

JOSHUA 1:3 and 5 (KJV)

B

ecause of showing weakness in a critical time, Moses could not enter the Promised land. He pleaded with the Lord, yet, the Lord did not allow him to cross over Jordan. And with him (Moses), the whole generation of people that came out of Egypt could not cross over, because of their evil ways.

I want you to see this: The Lord made a promise to Moses and his generation, that He will take them out of Egypt, and will lead them to a land flowing with milk and honey. Yet, none of them entered. All died in the wilderness. You see, the Lord gave them the promise, but they didn’t act in faith. Instead, they stopped God’s will for their lives.

The Lord is giving us many precious promises about our lives, our families, our ministries, our churches, our cities, and our nations. The only one that can stop God’s promises for your life from their fulfillment is YOU! That’s right! The Lord told Joshua: “Wherever YOUR feet go, I will be with YOU. NO MAN will be able to stop you!” That means, NO DEMON, NO CIRCUMSTANCE, NO NOTHING can stop you, unless you stop yourself.

And even when a whole generation refuses to fulfill God’s promises for their lives, the Lord is still faithful: He said to Joshua: “Moses and the old generation could not enter, but I will be with you, so you and this new generation can enter.” Isn’t the Lord amazing? It’s true that His mercy and love go from generation to generation and whatever has been missed in the previous generation, the Lord is faithful to produce it in the next, if the people only dare to believe in His mighty hand! Let’s be believers, and not unbelievers!

We are truly who we are, when we are who we are in Christ.

“But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph — as trophies of Christ’s victory —

and through us spreads and makes evident the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere,”

2 CORINTHIANS 2:14 (AMP)

W

ho are you? Who are you trying to be? Who are you trying to be like? Our economic status, our titles or positions at work, and our positions in society often dictate to us how we are, who we are, how we interact with people, and how we believe we can, should, or are expected to behave at work, at play, in school, and in church. The Bible, God, and Jesus have given us the standards by which we are to conduct our lives. God has sent His Son Jesus to give us an example of how we are to live our lives.

Some of us are good at compartmentalizing our lives, i.e., separating our career lives from our family lives. Some of us can leave work at work and not take it home. Some of us take work home with us. We physically take home work which could not be finished at work. Others of us bring work home mentally. In our minds we do not or cannot turn off work; it is in our minds. We worry or spend life energy being concerned about the next project, the upcoming job requirement, that difficult order, or we just worry about the unknown, the unseen, what Sally said, what Joe did, and what’s coming down the pike. (Proverb 27:1; Matthew 6:34)

When we act at church like we act at work and do not allow the Holy Spirit to have entrance to our bodies and use us at church, we are hindering the spirit. “Do not quench the Spirit.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19 (NKJ)  In public or around our children, when we act the way we act, wherever we act, someone is watching our behavior, taking note of our behavior, and in the case of children — learning and mimicking our behavior. It is important to behave properly in the eyes of the LORD and in the eyes of our children. We are either behaving incorrectly or correctly…choose.

People often assimilate in order to fit in, to have what they see others with, or to become a part of… When we ground ourselves in man, we become a lightning rod for many things which we really do not want to receive in our lives...evil. When we ground ourselves in Christ, we become a lightning rod for the many spiritual benefits of being a Child of God…blessings. Be like Jesus.  Seek the things which Jesus sought. Do the things which Jesus did.  “For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;” 2 Corinthians 2:15 (AMP)

Longsuffer through where God has placed you for your spiritual growth.

“Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.”

COLOSSIANS 3:12-13 (KJV)

W

ife you are free to leave your husband. That is “demon-speak.” I so tire of hearing evil disguised as vessels of God saying, “Wife, it is okay to leave your husband.” Biblically, there are only two reasons when that is okay: adultery and death. We must take a spiritual position, put on our spiritual armor, and take our husbands, wives, and families back from the enemies of God. They are victims just like you are, but from a different perspective. Help them to loose their bonds. Do not leave them to suffer in the thongs of the demons.

Family is an integral part of God’s plan for the redemption of man and all of His Creation. How can anyone who claims to be a servant of God Almighty say it is okay to break up a family? One of the first things to do is to examine the parties’ relationships with God. You may have gotten married while in sin or without God’s permission, but with God’s help you ALL can make it work again. The family, the husband, the wife have a new job: to make FAMILY.

God often breaks us to make us. “…as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.” Revelation 2:27 (KJV)  If God will break Jesus, you know He will break us. But Jesus came back stronger than ever before, VICTORIOUS. Marriages and relationships sometimes have to be broken, so the LORD can fix them. We are like clay pots which need to be broken and remade; not just us, but our families, our marriages, and our relationships with our friends. The enemies of God and man will have us run away when times get tough, broken, and seemingly impossible. If you know like I know, when things get impossible for man, that is when God steps in.

We have to know that God is in the midst of our lives if we have invited Him in and things will work out if we work at it, work at relationships, work at life, doing it God’s way, how the Bible outlines it, and as the Holy Spirit suggests to us what we are to do and how we are to do it—not how man tells us what and how to do it.  Look at the world today… that is your standard for what happens when you follow and listen to man. Follow God and His Son Jesus. We have to have and show mercy to our loved ones who are causing us to longsuffer. Longsuffering is a fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22) Do not walk away from the fruit God is using to prepare you for His Glory and His Blessing.  “And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,” Romans 9:23 (KJV)

Our life is not in our control. Our breath is in the Lord’s hands.

God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things.”

ACTS 17:24-25 (KJV)

L

ife is an expression of God’s love and purpose. The Lord Himself is LOVE and He also has a purpose for our lives. The Preacher says in Ecclesiastes that for everything under Heaven there is a Divine purpose. There is a purpose for our life, and we are not just products of the physical contact between our father and mother. The Lord gives us a spirit that is a part of Himself, when we are born, and the Bible says the Lord is jealous over the spirit He has given us. With the spirit comes also a purpose for our lives and we are to fulfill that purpose.

We will never be spiritually, emotionally, or even physically satisfied if we don’t fulfill the Lord’s purpose for our lives. Matthew 6 says that we are FIRST (This speaks of priority) to seek the Kingdom of God, and when we do, all else will fall into place for us. If we first seek all else instead, we will never get it, or if we get it, it will only lead to our degradation, because it is not serving God’s higher cause.

Abraham is an example of a life lived fully for fulfilling God’s purposes. Genesis 25:8, Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his people.” Good old age, full. Full means satisfied. It means all that needed to be done was done and now he was ready to give up his ghost. Let us live our days for the Lord, because He is the One that gave us our life, and our breath in order to fulfill His purposes for our generation and then, when we have done all, we may go to Him full and satisfied, Him being satisfied with our work most of all.

Praise God in faith, knowing and expecting Him to come through.

“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.”

ROMANS 12:21 (NKJ)

“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

2 SAMUEL 22:4 (NKJ)

D

o not give up. When the Lord breaks us down to build us up, it is often tough to hang in there and receive the full bounty (the fullness of joy) of the LORD’s Blessing. You may be in a job you don’t like or don’t appreciate. There may be someone on your job who makes your job life a living hell—hang in there. You may be in a relationship that has hurt your heart, betrayed your trust, or brought you endless tears—wait on the LORD. “Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say on the LORD!” Psalm 28:14 (NKJ)

We often want to run away from the tough times, the serious pain, or the row that is hard to hoe. You may have lost a loved one, have a child who has a birth defect, or just can’t seem to get over the lover who dumped you. You have to fight that thing with all your heart and mind. Make a choice to overcome. “…In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33b (NKJ)  Through Jesus Christ, Who has overcome, we overcome by being in Him and He being in us. This is a powerful mystery. “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 (KJV)

While your blood is running warm in your veins, you have to receive the understanding that Christ in us solidifies our place of victory. (Colossians 1:27)  We overcome by the Blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and the word of our testimony. (Revelation 12:11) As Christians we live in the Blood, and pray the Blood washes us clean of our sins. Our testimony is not only confession with our mouths to one another, fellow Christians, but it is telling someone you need help. It is confessing to someone that you cannot do it by yourself and that you are having a difficult time coping, living, or dealing with the issues of life which have been set before you. This confession, this testimony will allow you to be strengthened by the fellowship of Christians who have Christ dwelling in them. It will allow you to move from faith to faith, from glory to glory. Just do not give up and do not give out. Praise the Lord, have faith and see the answer to your prayers and your dilemma which is right in front of you.

Our righteousness is not our own, but the Righteousness of Jesus Christ.

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…”

ISAIAH 64:6 (KJV)

R

ighteousness a mystery revealed. In the Old Testament people depended on their righteousness and sacrifices to get them into the Grace of God and into Heaven. “And (Abram) believed, (trusted in, relied on, remained steadfast to the Lord); and He counted it to him as righteousness [right standing with God.] Genesis 15:6 (AMP) Our confidence must be grounded in the Righteousness of Christ Jesus, His “right standing with God,” which does not alter, falter, or fail.

Many new Christians stumble on this point: we have to be righteous; and we do (we have to make a real effort to be so). But how can we be righteous enough to please God if our righteousness is like a filthy rag, unacceptable to God? In life, I have more confidence with a pocket full of money versus when my pockets are empty. I have more confidence when I am driving a new car versus riding the bus. Spiritually, I have more confidence when I am living right, than when I am not living fully up to what I believe are the requirements for spiritual living.

We are conduits, pipelines of God’s attributes or character; we are vessels. “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV)  When we count on our righteousness, we lose confidence in our spiritual power when we make a mistake, fall, or do not live up to what we believe the LORD expects out of us. When we lose our confidence, then we typically will not move in the Power of His Righteousness, which is necessary for the full expression of His Glory and His Kingdom.

You see there are some things which we can and should depend on, and that is the Righteousness of Christ Jesus and the Faithfulness of God Almighty. We cannot count on our righteousness, but we can depend on that of Christ. With Christ in us, we put on His Righteousness. Therefore, we can have and maintain our spiritual confidence in Him and in our righteousness, which is His Righteousness.  “..seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness…” Matthew 6:33 (KJV)  Seek a right standing with Christ.

CONFIDENCE IN CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

Be not like a horse or a mule without intelligence. One attaches them with a brake and a bit.

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.”
MATTHEW 10:16
(NIV)

The current world is full with many types of evil and irreligious people where the law of retaliation can reign. How does one survive and live in peace? It is necessary to form a relationship with the Prince of the Peace who is Jesus, the all-powerful God. He is the One who can communicate to us the things which can bring us into life, into a life of excellence, and royalty in His Peace.

This may seem foreign in the sight of the men of this world where science, academics, and medicine have all made great strides. The one thing that we need though is wisdom. The wisdom of the world is madness in front of God. The wisdom of God is madness for this world, because they are incompatible. No one should be mistaken, if somebody among you thinks of being wise according to this century, they must become insane in order to appear wise. “Do not deceive yourselves, if any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise.” 1 Corinthians 3:18 Those who are wise are those belonging to the fact and who know that the Lord is a personal Savior. It is He, Jesus our Wisdom, our Justice, our Sanctification and our Redemption.

It is necessary for us to know the characteristics of wisdom. There are two: the Divine that we seek and the terrestrial, carnal, or demonic. Demonic wisdom is bitter jealousy, competition, disorder, bad practices, and pride. The wisdom which comes from God is pure, peaceful, moderated, reconciling, filled with mercy and good fruits without partiality, or hypocrisy. The fruit of peace is sown in peace by the peacemakers. (James 3:14-18)

Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4:10-13, “We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.” Being wise and intelligent is to observe the laws of God and to put them into practice.
